Job Purpose/Role:
 
You will be part of the Risk Management team at Allianz Direct, being responsible for operational risk management
and report to the Chief Risk Officer. The role involves supporting the business (1st LoD) with implementation of the
Integrated Risk and Control System (IRCS) framework globally.  
 
Key responsibilities:
 

•    Implement and maintain a state of the art operational risk management framework (Scoping, Risk Assessments,
Defintion of Key Risk Indicators, Design & Effectiveness of Controlls  etc) on an international scale

•    Maintaining the framework to ensure regulatory and group requirements are met

•    Support the business to identify risks, formulate action plans, assign action owners, set deadlines and validate
with risk owners

•    Perform Quality Assurance on Risk Control Assessments (RCA), control documentation and testing results and
provide expert guidance on topics

•    Monitor the execution of action plans for issue tracking established by Risk Owners and following up with Risk
Owners or escalating to the Risk Committee when action plans fail to be implemented within agreed timelines

•    Improve internal controls, identify best practices and assist in the definition and implementation of risk
development plans.

•    Summarize and prepare reports on the results from IRCS exercise in order to report to the CRO, Risk
Committee, Senior Management and Board of Management

•    Interact with the Group, Local supervisory authorities, internal audit and external auditors.

•    Represent AZ Direct's Risk Management function in relevant Committee(s)/ meetings/ risk assessment
workshops: analyze risks, offer constructive challenge and new ideas

•    Prepare and perform local entity training and awareness campaigns to further strengthen the AZ Direct risk
culture 

•    Proactively identify opportunities and challenge the status quo.
 
Qualifications/Key skills:

•    Master or Bachelor in Economics, Business administration or similar

•    Work experience of 1-3 years as a process manager, quality manager or role in insurance core value chain
processes (e.g. underwriting, claims, policy management, sales or distribution) or in an Operational Risk function in
the financial industry (preferred), alternatively experience in Compliance or Audit within a multinational
insurance/reinsurance company

•    Experience in risk assessment, issue/impact analysis and executive report writing

•    Basic understanding of Solvency II framework, particular focus on Pillar II is a plus

•    Self-motivated, excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills plus the ability to work
independently in an international cross-functional team environment

•    Team player, ability to work individually and in teams, share information, support colleagues and encourage
participation

•    Entrepreneurial spirit and consider the only constant to be change
