The Actuarial Assistant, Pricing - Global Financial Solutions performs pricing, modeling, and other activities related to specific new business development opportunities for the Global Financial Solutions business unit.

Responsibilities

  • Assist to perform pricing, modeling using actuarial software on new or proposed transactions, or amendments to existing transactions, for the Global Financial Solutions business unit in a timely manner consistent with applicable standards.
  • Running existing and developing new Generalized Linear Model based on industry and company data.
  • Perform key analysis on experience study and transactions using Tableau.
  • Develop and maintain adequate and timely documentation of personal work that complies with relevant ASOPs.
  • Assist to build proof-of-concept models for new opportunities or new reinsurance solutions for our clients.
  • Participate in key unit and ad-hoc department projects as needed.



Requirements

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Finance, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics, Computer Science or related field.
  • Progress towards Actuarial designation with at least 2 actuarial exam completed.
  • 0-3 years of actuarial experience in life insurance/reinsurance.


Preferred:

  • Insurance/Reinsurance industry experience.
  • Master's degree in Math, Finance, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics or related field.


Skills and Abilities



Required:

  • Competent knowledge and understanding of actuarial concepts.
  • Intermediate PC and technical skills, including database applications, spreadsheets, and statistical programs.
  • Ability to be flexible when needed, take initiative, and demonstrate accountability.
  • Intermediate oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to share and impart knowledge.
  • Ability to set goals and prioritize workload.
  • Intermediate investigative, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Intermediate interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department/team projects.
  • General business knowledge.


Preferred:

  • Experience with actuarial modeling software.
  • Experience with programming software, such as R or Python.
  • Competent understanding of key insurance-related concepts, including life and annuity products, reinsurance contracts, and basic GAAP, Statutory, and tax accounting principles.

State of Colorado: This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act. The pay range for this position in Colorado is $60,055 to $85,295 per year. Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location.
