Actuarial Pricing Analyst

Position Overview

In this role you will assist with pricing and product development work for existing and new business reinsured by RGA.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate and high quality quotes in line with RGA's corporate standards and within agreed upon timelines.
• Analyze the tender request, particularly the benefit structure. Utilize this analysis and input from liaisons with underwriting and claims as well as product specs provided to adjust the basis to be used.
• Set up Axis cells, analyze Axis output and propose final set of rates.
• Once pricing or analysis has been completed, conduct reasonability checks and reconcile the results/output produced with previous data if possible. Areas of uncertainty should be highlighted for review.
• Collaborate with business development and other decision makers to produce the final result and construct a proposal which is suitable for the client.
• Document pricing assumptions and results adequately. Demonstrate flexibility in working approach.
• Help the team with adhoc client and project queries as and when they arise.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships within the team and with other functions in the business to foster effective collaboration
• Pricing and product development for all Individual, funeral and Credit Life business.
• Provide technical and overall peer review on quotes and tenders within the agreed turnaround times per quote.
• Clear, through documentation of quotes using the Divisional template.
• Complete letters of offer and treaties within agreed turnaround times.
• Interact with clients as required on quotes.
• Developing of pricing tools to improve efficiency.

Requirements

• Actuarial student making good progress with exams.
• Experience with individual pricing or product development is preferred.
• A reasonable level of computer literacy - advanced Excel and Word, working knowledge of Access, Visual Basic and Powerpoint.
• A sound actuarial knowledge base.
• Coding skills highly recommended VBA, R, Python or SQL.
