A brief overview

The role involves working closely with the AVP, Actuarial Modeling with the primary responsibility of performing pricing, modeling, risk analysis, structuring, and other activities related to the support of the pricing and valuation teams using Moody's Analytics suite of AXIS, EnterpriseLink, GridLink and GLaaS software. The incumbent will be the subject matter expert for Local and Regional Pricing Actuaries as they model reinsurance transactions for pricing, valuation (as required) or business planning and act as the contact for any AXIS modeling or AXIS modeling software related issues or questions. The incumbent will also work with the Pricing Standards Group, IT and Global Audit to ensure documented modeling and pricing guidelines are followed, software and hardware tools used in the modeling process reflect the most up to date enterprise strategies and regulatory environments around the world and collect new business pricing information for analysis.

What you will do

  • Triage of AXIS questions/issues by answering questions/resolving issues specific to RGA guidance, answer questions/resolve issues specific to AXIS using Moody's help desk as needed, answer questions/resolve issues specific to RGA IT environment using Pit Crew/Moody's Analytics help desk as needed, answer questions/resolve issues specific to RGA Accounts Payable environment using APHelp/Moody's Analytics help desk as needed and Document issue resolutions and share as needed while providing reasonable timeframes to stakeholders and deliver as indicated
  • Make users aware of new software/hardware features and potential impact on processes/resources by updating existing and create new training materials and presentations, analyse knowledge gaps with user community and resolve as needed, review user AXIS models (pricing, valuation, pipeline, planning) and document feedback and act as the AXIS SME for Global Audit Services for annual pricing audits and recruit other AXIS SME resources for GAS when needed. Also collect, document and analyse business requirements from all RGA pricing teams, inform AXIS Executive Director and Moody's Analytics about all business requirements, seek business approval of all change orders submitted to Moody's Analytics for new features and provide approval to Moody's Analytics, while ensuring priorities are communicated to Moody's Analytics and negotiate delivery dates
  • Maintain the security program for EnterpriseLink, GridLink and GLaaS in connection with RGA's IT function while owning all the AXIS Active Directory Security Groups, owning all the AXIS Active Directory Service and Proxy Accounts, request from IT additional Security Groups with appropriate Proxy Accounts as needed, act as the business approver for user access to AXIS, monitor and modify the permissions within EnterpriseLink and GridLink as needed and perform SOX User Access Reviews as requested by GSPO
  • Provide assistance to RGA IT for all Moody's Analytics software changes and/or updates, test all software changes and updates for EnterpriseLink and GridLink, inform users who request AXIS change orders of their completion and ensure the new features are tested when delivered and monitor and report on environment performance data to AXIS users and direct supervisors as well as IT



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Finance, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science or related field and ASA or Equivalent Certification
  • ASA or equivalent certification. FIA, FSA, FIAJ or equivalent certification is preferred
  • 4+ Years Actuarial experience in Life Insurance/Reinsurance or relevant non-life experience. 4+ Years Reinsurance industry experience is preferred
  • Extensive experience with the AXIS software platform and modules
  • Advanced PC skills and understanding of actuarial systems - including spreadsheet, database, and actuarial projection tools
  • Product design, pricing, or reinsurance pricing experience
  • Financial reinsurance, asset-intensive, or longevity pricing experience
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and US Statutory Insurance accounting
  • Knowledge of US Statutory, Risk Based Capital (RBC), US GAAP, and Economic Capital models
  • Ability to model various insurance products and reinsurance structures; demonstrated knowledge of life insurance, health insurance, third sector, longevity, and/or annuity products
  • Knowledge of life and health insurance, longevity and/or annuity products
  • Ability to challenge and enhance RGA's pricing and analytical modeling capabilities
