Job Purpose/ Role
We are looking for a Life & Health Senior Actuarial Expert to join our Corporate Actuarial team at Allianz Re, the Allianz Group’s global “in-house” reinsurance company based in Munich, Germany.
Reporting to the Head of Actuarial Life & Health (Munich), you would be part of a small, friendly and professional international actuarial team. You would be involved into all aspects of the quarterly and annual actuarial reporting processes (IFRS and Solvency II), with particular focus on topics related to IFRS17.
Key responsibilities
- L&H reserving on IFRS and Solvency II bases for a global reinsurance company
- Being part of and actively contributing to the L&H actuarial work stream for IFRS17 and accompanying the go-live
- Contribution to L&H actuarial valuations and modelling (cashflows, risk capital, business diagnostics, sensitivities, etc.)
- Provide business functions with actuarial insights / build relationships with UW and client management
- Interaction with Allianz Group Centres
- Support communication with internal stakeholders (e.g. senior management, Reserve Committee, etc.)
- Support communication with external stakeholders (e.g. auditors, local regulator, etc.)
- Providing technical guidance to other team members in own areas of expertise
Qualification
- University Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related quantitative field
- Qualified or nearly qualified Actuary (e.g. FSA, FIA, DAV)
- Advanced command of written and spoken English is required; German is a plus
Experience & Key skills
- Experience in L&H (re)insurance (> 6 years)
- Several years of experience in L&H reserving (IFRS and Solvency II)
- Advanced L&H IFRS17 knowledge and practical experience (> 2 years), e.g. from IFRS17 project work
- Excellent analytical and strong actuarial skills (technical and methodological)
- Programming and Database experience and ideally experience with SAS
- Profound Microsoft Excel skills
- Reinsurance knowledge is a plus
- Strong communication skills
- Self-directed, organised and willing to work under time pressure when necessary
- Highly motivated and open minded
- Team player with the ability to work independently and with attention to detail
- Ability to work in an international and multi-cultural environment
