Actuarial Associate

Responsibilities

  • Researches, develops and maintains actuarial models, methods and assumptions;
  • Performs detailed US/China Statutory, Tax, and GAAP valuation work for assigned business, ensures these items are appropriately documented and posted, and assists with identifying changing requirements and adapting to maintain compliance;
  • Develops projections for financial planning and economic capital and analysis and assists with communication of financial analytics and results in terms of major drivers of variance;
  • Supports quarterly and annual filings;
  • Supports annual basis change;
  • Serves as a liaison with other valuation, pricing, administration, systems, accounting, audit, and finance associates;
  • Performs valuation work and ad-hoc department projects as needed and called upon;
  • Performs other duties as required;



Requirements

Experience:

  • Completes elementary exams of SOA or equivalent;
  • 1 to 3 years of actuarial work experience;


Preferred:

  • ASA of SOA or equivalent;
  • Familiarity with LDTI/China GAAP reporting and AXIS/Prophet are highly preferred;
  • Judgment in making practically and financially sound decisions;
  • Effective organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to perform under pressure;
  • Excellent communications skills; fluency in both of Chinese and English are essential;
  • Advanced Excel, Word and Visual Basic skills;Basic SQL skills.
