About the Role
As (Senior) Pricing & Products Actuary L&H, based in Munich and reporting to the Head Pricing & Products L&H Continental Europe, you will lead technical and actuarial aspects of the relationship with distribution partners in Germany. You will be responsible for pricing, referral and final sign-off for existing and newly developed insurance products. You will prepare end-customer premium rates and ensure that the agreed rates are correctly implemented in the respective administration systems. Together with the Insurance Product Manager and Literature managers in Germany, and another Senior Pricing & Products Actuary, you will ensure that our insurance proposition (Products and Pricing) provides good customer value.
It will also be your responsibility to prepare and maintain the pricing assumption basis for our German business. You will support the Distribution team in business performance steering and distribution partner management. Working with our tight-knit German Partner Core Team, you will also collaborate closely with various experts including Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Operations, Valuation and Risk Management.
You will be required to have in-depth knowledge of the German L&H primary insurance protection market. Including awareness of the legal and regulatory framework. In addition, you will review pricing work performed by other Pricing & Products Actuary for other markets across EMEA.
Key responsibilities are:

Deliver pricing, referral and final sign-off of German protection products (Term Life, Whole of Life, and associated rider benefits) balancing commercial and customer value

Drive business cases and new partnerships, in collaboration with the Distribution team

Contribute to product development, design, and expansion

Develop and maintain costing tools/models

Specify and test products

Monitor the existing portfolio

Review customer literature and distribution contract
About the Team
We are a diverse, talented group of people, who delivers L&H primary insurance proposition (Product development and Pricing) in multiple countries. The Pricing & Products L&H Continental Europe team consists of 9 colleagues based across 5 locations in Europe.
About You
We expect you to be:

A qualified Actuary with experience in L&H pricing in the German primary insurance market, including use of cashflow pricing models (level of experience will determine if the successful candidate is a Senior Pricing & Products Actuary)

Deeply knowledgeable about life insurance and know how to technically implement solutions and products

Commercially minded

Client centric with experience working with external distributors

Fluent in English and German with excellent oral and written communication skills. Other main European languages are an advantage.

Proficient in MS Excel. Programming experience in VBA and/or R is beneficial.
