Actuarial Analyst

Position Overview

The incumbent will be responsible for US GAAP (incl LDTI), IFRS 17, and local statutory financial reporting, actuarial support in areas of practice like experience studies, embedded value reporting, and risk management. The department drives various high profile corporate endeavors that will provide the incumbent with board exposure to a "big picture view" of the enterprise, including the opportunity to learn about and contribute to emerging corporate initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Valuation support on regular US GAAP reporting, and local Statutory reporting (including Singapore RBC, Labuan RBC, Singapore ORSA)
  • Support on entity reporting (e.g. Solvency II)
  • Experience studies support to facilitate the valuation best estimate basis reviews (for IFRS17, USGAAP LDTI, EV, Local Regulatory) and to understand the historical experience of the inforce business
  • Modeling of key business on Prophet platform or via a simplified modeling technique
  • Support on management reporting such that management understand the key financial drivers of the business
  • Support on projections for business planning and analysis
  • Support on economic valuation projects such as EV and PBEC
  • Support on IFRS 17 implementation projects, and then ongoing subsequent reporting on these bases
  • Performs valuation work and ad-hoc department projects as needed and called upon - e.g. process improvement, support to other BAU activities



Requirements

  • University graduate majoring in actuarial science program, making good progress on actuarial exams with a globally recognized actuarial association.
  • Fresh graduate or 1-2 years' working experience in life insurance / reinsurance companies.
  • Computer savvy including actuarial software (e.g. AXIS, Prophet etc.) and a strong knowledge in Excel and VBA.
  • Strong analytical, data management skills, attention to details and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong critical thinking and solutions focused with excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
  • A highly motivated and conceptual thinker who is able to collaborate in a team environment or work independently and take an active role in a wide variety of assignments.
