The Pricing, Systems & Analytics department in Corporate Underwriting equips MunichRE’s Underwriting with methods
and tools to efficiently understand, price, and manage Non-life risks. In particular, our tools support operational
underwriting units in sustainably structuring and steering MR’s non-life business. The Portfolio Analytics and Steering
team is part of this department and focuses on the analytical, reporting and steering aspects of this objective, which is
pursued in close cooperation with operational underwriting and central divisions. We create solutions that meet both
internal and external reporting and data analysis requirements. We are responsible for various loss models as part of
the MR capital model and calibrate risk capital cost parameters for reinsurance underwriting. Finally, we are working on
the design of a future exposure and loss data management and analysis system (ANDEX). Both traditional actuarial
methods and modern algorithm-based approaches are used.
