Senior Actuarial Associate

Responsibilities

  • Complete regular and ad-hoc experience study in cooperation with Data Administration and Pricing team. Ensures experience study works are appropriately documented with well control, and assists with identifying changing requirements and adapting to maintain compliance; Provide valuable suggestions for monitoring experience, setting actuarial assumptions and managing in-force business to serve needs of internal and external clients;
  • Supports IFRS 17 implementation;
  • Support to develop, maintain, and/or review actuarial models, methods and assumptions;
  • Support US/China Statutory, Tax, and GAAP valuation work for assigned business;
  • Support projections for financial planning and analysis and assists with communication of financial analytics and results in terms of major drivers of variance;
  • Supports quarterly and annual filings;
  • Performs valuation work and ad-hoc department projects as needed and called upon;
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance;
  • Performs other duties as required;



Requirements

Experience:

  • ASA of SOA or equivalent;
  • 4 to 7 years of actuarial work experience;


Preferred:

  • Reinsurance experience is an asset;
  • Knowledge and familiarity with experience study and IFRS 17 is highly preferred;
  • Judgment in making practical, financially sound decisions;
  • Effective organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to perform under pressure;
  • Excellent communications skills; fluency in both Chinese and English are essential;
  • Advanced SQL, Excel, Word and Visual Basic skills.
