Actuarial Analyst, GFS Risk Management

Position Overview

The Actuarial Analyst, GFS Risk Management will be part of Global Financial Solutions (GFS) which accounts for over 50% of RGA's consolidated income. The Actuarial Analyst will contribute to the development and implementation of ongoing monitoring processes and tools to ensuring that the Capital Solutions line of business is managed to a standard at least as rigorous as that of RGA's other lines of business.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain inforce management and risk management processes
  • Develop and enhance models to monitor financial performance and risk metrics
  • Provide support to senior actuaries and assist with special projects


Inforce Monitoring and Data Analysis

  • Monitor quarterly experience for assigned, inforce transactions
  • Develop and implement system tools to monitor all aspects of the inforce business
  • For assigned transactions identify emerging issues, risks and deviations from expectations and escalate findings to management where necessary
  • Collaborate with Capital Solutions Administration team to ensure all data is received to monitor risks of assigned transactions


Annual Processes

  • Assists with the development of annual business plan
  • Develop projections for assigned transactions for input into Principles-Based Initiatives



Requirements

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Undergraduate degree in related field
  • Progress towards Actuarial Designation with at least one (1) exam from the Society of Actuaries
  • Knowledge of MS Office, database applications (Access, Oracle, SQL or equivalent), programming languages (VBA, R-code or Python) and actuarial software (AXIS, Prophet or equivalent)


Preferred:

  • 1 to 2 years of relevant actuarial work experience
  • Completion of 2 -3 exams from the Society of Actuaries
  • Knowledge of life, health, and/or annuity products

  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
