Valuation Transformation Lead

Position Overview

The Valuation Transformation Lead - EMEA is a 18 month role within the EMEA Valuation Team. This key team member will drive the delivery of key projects in the region, aimed at streamlining processes, increasing automation and migrating work to enhanced tools. They will work with valuation and other teams (e.g. Risk, Finance) and support local and global reporting projects.

This individual will have the ability to understand and optimise processes and migrate calculations to new tools. They will be able to work with existing teams and internal specialists, and a wider project team, to transform how work is produced. They will do this with strong interpersonal skills and in an organised and future-focussed fashion.

Responsibilities

  • Key Valuation resource for in the EMEA Valuation Team.
  • Responsible for driving the delivery of transformation projects within the EMEA Valuation team, including but not limited to:
  • Streamlining valuation processes (e.g. for Solvency II and US GAAP reporting): working with existing teams to understand current processes and facilitating the development and implementation of new processes (with appropriate checks and controls).
  • Working with data scientists and IT specialists on the development, testing and deployment of advanced data management and calculation tools.
  • Migrating calculations from Excel to new tools.
  • Enhancing data checking tools.
  • Providing training as required.
  • Completing documentation to enable teams to follow new processes.
  • Fosters a positive and engaged work environment, including mentoring and associate development.
  • Supports the Regional Head of Valuation - EMEA in other project work as required.



Requirements

  • Fellow of a recognized actuarial organization.
  • 5+ years of experience in the life insurance or reinsurance industry.
  • Experience in process optimisation and transformation projects: implementing change, ensuring understanding, participation and ownership across teams involved.
  • Experienced with analytical tools, Alteryx, Power BI, R, Python etc plus knowledge of optimising Excel processes.
  • LDTI or Solvency II experience in valuation, pricing or process development roles an advantage.
