Visual in brand design of Young Actuaries initiative

YAI Connect continues to grow as a dynamic webinar series created by Young Actuaries for Young Actuaries. The format is designed to spotlight fresh perspectives, practical experiences, and relevant professional topics from within the next generation of the actuarial community. The latest sessions once again showed how broad and engaging this exchange can be, combining career-related reflections with technical insights that matter for a modern actuarial audience.

In March 2026, YAI Connect featured “Actuaries Across Borders,” a session focused on international career paths and the realities of building a professional life in different countries. The webinar explored questions around moving abroad, adapting to new working cultures, and managing an actuarial career across borders. In April 2026, the series turned to a more technical topic with “Development of an Early Warning System (EWS) for Banking Credit Risk,” based on a master’s thesis by Raúl Cancino Reyes. The session addressed one-year probability of default modelling within the Basel III framework and highlighted the use of machine learning methods for predictive and interpretable risk management.

For anyone who missed the live webinars, the good news is that the recordings of the March and April sessions are available on the Young Actuaries Initiative profile on actuview.

The next YAI Connect webinar will be on May 20  – stay tuned at https://young-actuaries.com or on LinkedIn
