actupool in 2025: Building Careers, Connections and Cross-Border Momentum

As 2025 draws to a close, actupool looks back on a year shaped by continued change in the insurance and actuarial labour markets. Across many organisations, priorities shifted towards efficiency, targeted hiring and clearer skill profiles – making orientation, visibility and reliable matching even more valuable for both candidates and employers. Against this backdrop, actupool continued to expand its reach and community activities, supporting career development while strengthening international connections across Europe.
The platform counted more than 21,000 active users from 165 countries, also experiencing further growth in company participation, job alerts and newsletter reach – signals that actupool is increasingly used not only for job search purposes, but also as a recurring reference point for career orientation and market transparency.
Career-focused formats formed an important pillar of the year. On 25 March, actupool co-hosted the first YAI Young Actuaries Career Day, offering an interactive setting for early-career perspectives, skills development and direct exchange with experts and recruiters.

This momentum continued with two Actuarial Career Meetups (8 May and 28 November), bringing students, young actuaries and recruiting representatives together for practice-oriented insights, networking and open discussions on career pathways in a changing market. The meetups reinforced what many participants emphasised throughout the year: structured guidance and low-threshold opportunities to connect remain crucial – especially when career decisions need to be made with limited information about roles, teams and long-term development options.

In parallel, actupool expanded topical on-demand content through the “actupool insights” video series on actuview. The April episode, “Challenges in Health Insurance”, highlighted key pressures and developments in the health insurance landscape and provided a compact perspective on how actuarial work interfaces with product design, portfolio steering and regulation. In November, the episode “Transitions in Risk Management – Between Regulation, Efficiency and Real Added Value” examined how risk functions are evolving between supervisory requirements, efficiency targets and measurable value creation – complementing the event formats with content that can be accessed flexibly and revisited when needed.

A major strategic milestone followed in late November with the official launch of the partnership between actupool and the Institut des actuaires. This collaboration reflects a shared ambition: to improve cross-border visibility of actuarial opportunities, connect professional communities more closely and create additional touchpoints between candidates and employers across European markets. In practice, the partnership strengthens the bridge between national networks – an important step in a profession where skills are increasingly transferable and career paths are becoming more international.

All in all, 2025 was a year of consolidation and forward movement for actupool: a growing platform footprint, community formats that bring people into conversation, and partnerships that connect markets. With this foundation, actupool enters the new year ready to further support actuarial career development – through better information, more exchange and stronger European links.
